Throughout the Spring 2025 semester, the English Explorers will study the language through practical vocabulary, word games, discussions, literature, personal projects, writing, career exploration, and more. Students will advance their English skills by exploring interests of their choosing, such as STEM, history, art, math, physics, psychology, social sciences, coding, and more. This course is made mostly for those more proficient in English, but we welcome all levels.
Some examples of activities at English Explorers include:
Engaging in word games, such as a weekly warm-up with the New York Times game Connections.
Weekly vocabulary that will regularly introduce useful words.
Participating in friendly debates on topics ranging from ethics to favorite foods.
Writing regularly in journals to develop and refine language skills.
Sharing family traditions and customs during cultural exchange discussions, applying newly learned vocabulary.
Guest lectures on diverse topics to explore potential careers and academic fields.
Learning the fundamentals of digital literacy, including how to ethically find and use online resources.
We will meet once a week starting from the last week of January to the last week of May for 1 hour once a week. The day of the week is to be decided.
